In addition to switching the coolant flow on and off this fully variable ECF (Electro hydraulically Controlled Flow) - water pump can regulate the flow rate in between with a modulated hydraulic pressure generated by an electrically initiated and pulsing solenoid valve. For completing the control loop NGPM uses a constant feedback of the control slider’s position by magnet and sensor.

This concept supports NGPMs main goal to reduce the CO2-emissons due to a coolant flow perfectly adjusted to the engine’s demand.
